About Me
¡Hola todos! I'm a certified Spanish teacher. My students have ranged from 2 years old to the collegiate level. I love teaching Spanish and enjoying lessons with my students.

After years of using legacy methods that were stressful for my students and frankly didn't work, I researched new methods of instruction. I found comprehensible input. Let me tell you, it's amazing!

This means giving students lots of input (Spanish) that’s comprehensible (that they can understand) as the primary teaching method. I will speak slowly, write out words, use pictures, gestures etc. to make sure students are comprehending the Spanish. When necessary, I will explain the grammar. Also, I will provide homework activities to support the learning in class.

Students role play, make silly stories and play games. I am gentle, kind, and encouraging. I rephrase students' responses in Spanish instead as a form of gentle correction. Research shows the less stressed students are, the better they learn another language!

BEGINNER CONVERSATIONAL SPANISH

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español! Welcome to Spanish class! In this beginner conversational Spanish I welcome all students including those being introduced to Spanish and those who have had a few classes.
I provide all the vocabulary and sentence frames to successfully role play and participate in fun games. Students have several opportunities to speak and the repetition helps seal the vocabulary.

Students will learn to discuss greetings, numbers, the alphabet, the date, weather, likes, dislikes, hobbies etc. We will tell stories, ask and answer questions, role play, and play games all in Spanish. I will teach 50% in Spanish and 50% in English with tons of pictures and gestures. Vocabulary and written notes will be given as homework.
INTERMEDIATE CONVERSATIONAL SPANISH

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español! Welcome to Spanish class! In this intermediate conversational Spanish class I welcome all students who have had several beginner Spanish classes or have done extensive self study. **PREREQUISITE** As an intermediate class, it’s expected that students will have had some prior Spanish classes. Our focus will be the most common words and verbs in Spanish.
We will play games like guess who or design a dream house together and also create silly stories in class to practice using complete sentences. The activities are often silly and include student generated content to make them engaging and memorable. We focus on the most common verbs and vocabulary in Spanish
